Ranger is at camp Javahill for a few weeks this summer. To fill the void left by his absence I've added a couple of new pets to the household. Since the color scheme around here is red and white, I stuck with the theme. George is red with white spots and Gracie is white with red spots; or more accurately in both cases orange rather than red. They're goldfish, and they live in a whiskey barrel fountain/habitat in the back yard.
I'm even thinking about trying to train them. At least to get them to react in some Skinnerian way to sounds indicating dinner time. We'll see how that goes.
One of the first things that Gracie did upon her release into the habitat was to lay eggs which it looked like George tried fertilizing. Maybe I could be a fish breeder. I wonder if it's less heartbreaking than breeding dogs?
