Ceilidh Finishes her AKC Novice Agility Titles

Ceilidh and I just got back from El Paso and can now add two more titles to her name. She finished both her Novice Agility and her Novice Jumpers With Weaves titles in AKC agility. It was done in typical Ceilidh style of one leg/day. On Saturday we got the JWW done by the skin of our teeth. She had one refusal and seven time faults which left us sitting with 88 points. We needed to have 85 to get the leg so we had three seconds to spare. On the Saturday standard course we would’ve Q’ed as she had an excellent run well under course time, but she knocked one bar so we had to try again for that one on Sunday.

On Sunday, they ran Standard first so we went in and tried our best not to knock any bars. I thought it was going to be all over for us when after the first jump she went over to visit the judge. I was able to call her off and since she hadn’t broken the plane of the second jump there was no penalty. She completed the rest of the course with the only excitement being some editorial comments from Ceilidh on the table. We finished with a clean run and 10 seconds under time for her final leg in Standard. The weather was miserable and we were tired, so I scratched her Sunday Jumpers entry since we didn’t need the run. We got home in time to unload the car in the daylight.
