Honey the Toller rescue-update

Things are going well with Honey. All of our work with calming and conditioning is starting to pay off. If I had to describe her today, the only negative issue I would bring up would be that she's a bit of a recreational barker still. This is easily managed with a QUALITY bark collar. In fact, I've been slowly reducing the level of correction she is receiving as her behavior improves.

Another thing we've been working on, now that she has calmed down considerably, is deliberately getting her revved up and then working on controlling her excitement levels and teaching her to calm herself back down again. A problem has been that when things get exciting she has to share the excitement by jumping on and play biting the nearest dog, regardless of that particular dog's inclination to play. This has caused much offense with the pack and they have had to teach Honey more appropriate, respectful play behaviors.

She is much more polite with the other pack members now, and the pack behavior has changed from pretending she doesn't exist to reluctant acceptance of her as a member. They have taken on the task of teaching her how to interact with other dogs politely, without committing infractions against the doggy code of conduct. She is now much less of an in-your-face kind of dog and more of a well mannered family dog.

This is a dog that will worship its forever owner. The sun will not rise until the owner gets out of bed in the morning and the sun will set in the evening when the owner goes to bed.
