Honey update

Honey is still living with us. She's calmed down a bunch but is still a mystery.

Today I took her out for a solo hike to see if she'd come back without the pack. She did. Yeah! She does come when called. She also ran all over the place, running trails and marking. I noticed that she did keep an eye on me from a great distance, however. She did come to the whistle, but she mostly preferred running circles around me from a distance of about 150 yards away.

She's got an extremely high prey drive. At the house we have to be very careful to keep things calm and non-stimulating or she'll exhibit domination behaviors with the other girls and that can escalate. She also doesn't take to new people right away. She's a sweet dog, very smart, but needs a special quite home with a regular routines. Tomorrow I'm going to try playing a doggy calming album while I'm at work to see if that has any effect on the separation anxiety.

I worked with her a bit with the clicker today and she learns pretty quickly. She's very food motivated, and loves to play the training game. We'll play around with this a bit more while she's here.
