Training has been sporadic, but at least I have gotten some in on all three dogs this summer. Even 11-year-old Ceilidh has been taught a new trick, (fetch your bowl). She loves clicker work, or maybe it's food that she loves. In any case, it's fun to watch her enjoying her senior years.
Sue has been doing some remedial open work. She has all the tools, we're just refining and fixing at this point because they're rusty. She's heeling like a dream, her retrieving is great, but we needed to do some recall polishing and now that's coming along too, her statics are perfect, I need to work the broad jump with her, as we've not done that in quite some time.
Ranger and I have been working on just about everything. I think our biggest issue is attention and effort. He's coming along, but slowly. His heeling is getting there, stand for exam is perfect, statics are iffy in that he sometimes lays down on the sit, but the down is perfect, recall is coming along nicely, we've also been working on his trained retrieve. It's coming, just needs for me to focus on really completing the training.
